Our Protocol: A Spa Experience, Not a Rush Job
A proper bath takes time. We follow the Iv San Bernard method because it’s designed around the science of the skin. Here’s how we approach every bath at KLŌS:
- Pre-wet and Froth – We froth all shampoos and conditioners with water to create a rich foam. This allows for even product distribution and ensures the shampoo stays on the skin, not swirling down the drain.
- Application in Order – Starting with the face and neck and working downward to the back and tail, we bathe with the direction of the coat to avoid stress or tearing to the follicle.
- The 5-Minute Soak – We allow our shampoo and conditioner to sit on the skin for a full five minutes each. This is when the magic happens—dirt is gently released, and the skin begins to heal and hydrate.
- Custom Oils & PEKs – During conditioning, we may add customized boosters like mineral oils, proteins, or PEK masks based on your pet’s specific needs, whether that’s dryness, odor, or coat damage.
- Final Rinse with Precision – We never forget the feet, toes, or pads. These are common areas for yeast and bacteria buildup. A final focused rinse ensures a true full-body cleanse.
