Your puppy’s first grooming experiences are foundational. At KLŌS, we’ve created KLŌS Beginnings—a four-visit, wellness-based program designed to gently introduce puppies to grooming through trust, calm handling, and personalized care.
KLŌS Beginnings is ideal for puppies who are at least 12 weeks old or two weeks past their second round of vaccinations, as recommended by most veterinarians. The earlier you begin within this window, the better the long-term outcome.
Why Start Early?
Early grooming helps your puppy build emotional confidence, body awareness, and comfort with essential grooming routines. Delaying grooming can lead to fear, matting, and long-term coat damage—especially in breeds with high-maintenance coats.
At KLŌS, we don’t just clean—we build confidence through care. Each visit is a milestone designed to teach, soothe, and prepare your puppy for a lifetime of wellness-focused grooming.
The Four Visit Experience
Visit 1: Comfort & Calm
- Gentle brushing and handling
- Nail trim and ear massage
- Light table time and touch with clippers (no cutting)
- No bath unless puppy is confident—this visit builds trust and familiarity
Visit 2: Warm Bath & Sensory Bonding
- First bath using Iv San Bernard’s Puppy Don’t Cry shampoo—tear-free and ultra-gentle
- Hand towel dry and slow introduction to low-noise drying
- Soft brushing, paw and table work
- Sanitary trim and light exposure to scissors (no body trimming)
Visit 3: Reinforcement & Refinement
- Bath and blow dry repeated for reinforcement
- Light scissoring of face, feet, sanitary areas, and ears
- Nail grinding if appropriate
- More independent table practice and brushing
Visit 4: The Finishing Touch (KLŌS Puppy Cut)
Your puppy receives their first KLŌS Puppy Cut, crafted with intention and care:
- We do not shave or fully cut the body. A puppy’s coat is still developing and should be preserved to protect their skin, regulate temperature, and support future coat health.
- We carefully tidy and shape:
- Eyes & Face – trimmed for visibility and hygiene
- Ears – shaped to help your puppy adjust to handling
- Paws & Pads – trimmed for safety and traction
- Sanitary Areas – cleaned for hygiene
- Body – lightly shaped and neatened, never shaved or clippered down
- Final touches include a calming spritz of Iv San Bernard Talc, a gentle fragrance formulated to soothe and comfort
- We finish with a keepsake Graduation Photo and Certificate

What Happens After Graduation?
Upon completing KLŌS Beginnings, we’ll guide you in planning your puppy’s next phase of grooming. This may include their first full groom, a KLŌS Membership, or a maintenance bath schedule to keep them clean, confident, and on track.
